Smiley Cookie Named PA Chamber’s “Coolest Thing Made in PA”

We’ve always thought Smiley Cookies were pretty cool, but now they have officially been named the “Coolest Thing Made in PA!” There were several intense rounds of voting in the PA Chamber of Business and Industry’s annual bracket-style competition, and we’re incredibly grateful for the passion and support of our community, who showed up and voted for Smiley Cookies to take home the title.

 A Story Rooted in Pennsylvania

The Smiley Cookie story began right here in Pennsylvania. Introduced in 1986, Smiley Cookies are celebrating 40 years of smiles! The inspiration came from our former chairman, Jim Broadhurst, who grew up in Titusville, a small town north of Pittsburgh. As a child, Jim would stop at Warner’s Bakery on his way home from school to buy a smiling, happy-faced cookie. Years later, Jim carried that feeling with him. With permission from Mr. Warner, he brought a smiling cookie to Eat’n Park, building bakeries in our Eat’n Park restaurants and giving each child a Smiley Cookie with their meal. Before long, adults wanted their own Smiley Cookies, and that simple gesture grew into a truly special tradition for guests of all ages.

More Than a Cookie

For four decades years, Smiley Cookies have been creating smiles far and wide. While they started as a sweet treat for kids, they’ve become a symbol of joy, care, and hospitality. Today, we bake nearly 7 million Smiley Cookies every year. Last year alone, SmileyCookie.com shipped about half a million Smiley Cookies to all 50 states, and even more were donated to support local community events. We believe a smile can go a long way, and that belief is what has made Smiley Cookies a Pennsylvania classic.

Thank You for the Smiles

We’re incredibly thankful to everyone who shares in the joy and nostalgia Smiley Cookies bring. Being part of the fabric of the communities where we live and work is something we are proud of, and this recognition reflects that commitment to our guests in Pennsylvania and beyond. Thank you for helping to name Smiley Cookies the “Coolest Thing Made in PA!” Here’s to 40 years of smiles, and many more to come.

Pistachio Fluff from the Salad Bar

Eat’n Park Best Restaurant for Kids: Kids' Meals Even the Pickiest Kids Can Agree On

Eat’n Park is proud to be the Place for Smiles... and the Place for Kids!

We’re honored to be frequently named a Best Family Friendly Restaurant, most recently in Pittsburgh Magazine’s 2025 Readers’ Poll! This means a lot since the votes come from our guests.

While we appreciate the recognition, our toughest critics are your little eaters — and we strive to make sure they leave happy (and with a Smile!).

Eat’n Park Kids’ Menu Has Something for Every Eater

In honor of National Picky Eaters Day on April 4, Eat’n Park is spotlighting our kids’ menu, specifically designed for the choosiest little diners.

With options ranging from Stuffed Crust Pizza to Kids’ Breakfast Smile Jr., we have something for every little one. They can even create their own meal at the Salad Bar, putting together a plate of veggies, fruit, and soup. Kids ages 3 to 10 eat at the Salad Bar at a discounted rate, and kids under 3 eat for free with an adult purchase of the Salad Bar.

Whether your child is a chicken-tenders-only kid or someone who prefers foods that don’t touch, Eat'n Park's wide variety of kid-approved selections makes mealtime easier, happier, and a whole lot more stress-free.
