Saint Simon & Jude Parish Festival
Good afternoon, fellow cookie lovers!
Last weekend the Team Smiley crew went to the Saint Simon
and Jude Parish Festival in Greentree.
We had so much fun meeting Smiley's fans and decorating delicious
cookies!
There were a bunch of cool booths set up with tasty snacks
and fun games for Smiley to play. There
were even skydivers who landed right in the middle of all the festivities!
Tons of people came by our tent and were super excited about
our new Instagram contest! Take a Smiley selfie with your Smiley Cookie or even
Smiley himself, then post it to your Instagram account. Follow us on Instagram @ENPTeamSmiley and use the hashtag

IFMA Gold Plate Award
We've got some exciting news to share! Jim Broadhurst, our Chairman of Eat'n Park Hospitality Group, won the International Foodservice Manufacturers Association (IFMA) Gold Plate Award, one of the food service industry's most prestigious honors!
The award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated leadership, achievement and innovation; have made lasting contributions to the foodservice industry, and have shown civic pride through voluntary involvement in community activities.

Skylights Media Day
Hey cookie cravers, it's Randi from Team Smiley! Recently,
Smiley and the team headed down to Heinz Field for WPXI Skylights Media Day.
This was one of Smiley's favorite events! Smiley got to meet football players
and cheerleaders from the local area as they prepare for upcoming season.
Team Smiley handed out super sweet mini cookies, and sparked
some friendly beanbag toss competition with some awesome prizes, like
sunglasses and a Smiley Frisbee. Later in the day, Smiley got to meet the face
of Skylights, John Fedko!
The highlight of Smiley's day was when he got to help film a
promotional video that will be played on TV and online all throughout the high
school football season. Smiley loves any opportunity to show off his killer
dance moves, and he danced the day away with his new cheerleader and football
player friends.

Pirates Kids’ Zone
Hi there - Laine from Team Smiley here. This week I’m writing to tell you about Team Smiley’s first trip of the season to Pirates Kids’ Zone on Federal Street. We had a blast hanging out with all the awesome Pirates fans! Smiley even had on his black and gold to support the Bucs.
It was a whirlwind day! We handed out so many Smiley Cookies, and young Buccos got the chance to decorate their own. It was a remarkable way to get pumped before the game. And guess what? We’ll be at one more Kids’ Zone event this month on Sunday, July 20! We hope to see you there!

Team Smiley At Dormont Days
Hi there friends! It’s your fellow cookie enthusiast, Kelly, here, coming to you with our Team’s very exciting weekend adventures. This Independence Day, we spread cheer, smiles, and of course, lots and lots of cookies to the attendees of Dormont Day.
Smiley sported his red, white, and blue while celebrating with both young and old fans of Eat’n Park. He encouraged his friends to try their hands at decorating their very own Smiley cookie. How exciting! This activity is exclusive to the Cruiser; and remember, wherever the Cruiser goes, fun follows!
Smiley watched as all of his friends had so much fun bouncing and playing in the blow-up castles and obstacle courses. He wanted to join them, but his big feet were a smidge of a problem, so he watched from afar. All in all, it was another 4th of July for the books! Stars, stripes, and Smiley forever!

#LocalTastesBetter
A point of pride here at Eat’n Park Hospitality Group is FarmSource, our local purchasing program. Started in 2002, FarmSource allows us to offer our guests locally grown and produced foods, while supporting the farmers who provide those foods. This year we wanted to showcase some of those local partners, so we created a series of videos to introduce the producers who provide our coffee, local produce, and more.
Check out our most recent video featuring Dan and Lynn Yarnick of Yarnick's Farm, and Don Brenckle of Brenckle’s Farms and Greenhouses. These are just two of the local farms who provide fresh veggies for our menu items and our Soup, Salad, and Fruit Bar.
Through FarmSource, we purchase a variety of local vegetables like peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, zucchini, and cabbage. One of the newest vegetables we'll be featuring this year is called the Yummy Pepper. This pepper is the size and shape of a Jalapeno, but it's one of the sweetest peppers that I've ever tasted. We're using this pepper on a brand new sandwich called the Pickled Pepper Steak Sandwich. Every Eat'n Park location slices and pickles these peppers in-house. How cool is that? Fresh, local, and homemade.

Family Week at the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium
Hello friends and Smiley enthusiasts!
I am excited to report about Eat’n Park’s Family Week (June 15 – 21) at the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium. The week was filled with exciting sights as well as many smiles and lots of fun!
The event kicked off on Father’s Day and headed into a week of zoo fun! Smiley and the team surprised all of the dads and their families at the end of the day with cookie decorating and lots of hugs from Smiley.
Family Week continued with Shark Day, Teddy Bear Day, and Sea Otter Day. Smiley got to hang out with all of his cool animal friends while also spreading plenty of cookies and smiles to all the families who came out to celebrate. Zoo visitors even got to try their hand at plinko and cornhole to win awesome Smiley prizes.
We finished the week with a day dedicated to one of the zoo’s newest additions: the red panda. It was a whirlwind week, and we made many new friends – and memories that are sure to last!
