Welcome Back to Eat’n Park!

As the country begins to reopen, we’re excited to announce that ALL of our Eat’n Park dining rooms are now open and welcoming guests once more!

We’ve missed you all and are looking forward to reuniting with friends over a Superburger and restarting our weekend breakfast traditions with a smile. All of our locations are now open from 7am-11pm.

With the safety of guests and team members in mind, new procedures are in place at every Eat’n Park restaurant:
  • LIMITED SEATING: Tables have been positioned or closed to ensure at least six feet between parties.
  • SOCIAL DISTANCING: Social distancing guidelines are visible throughout the restaurant. If you are on a wait list, wait in your car, and we'll come get you!
  • ONE WAY DOORS: Lobby doors are designated for entering and exiting only.
  • MASKS & GLOVES: Each team member has been equipped with masks and gloves as required.
  • SINGLE-USE MENUS: We're also offering other one-time use elements, like single serve salt and pepper.
  • RETRAINED TEAM MEMBERS: Our team was retrained with specific safety and sanitation processes, including hand-washing procedures.
  • NEW TABLE SANITIZER: We switched to a new tabletop sanitizer that kills the virus that causes COVID-19 specifically.
  • HOURLY DISINFECTING: Every hour, team members will disinfect high touch points in the restaurant.
  • HAND SANITIZER STATIONS: Hand sanitizer stations have been installed in all our lobbies.
  • PLEXIGLASS PARTITIONS: Plexiglass partitions have been installed at all registers.
  • NO SELF SERVE: We're hopeful to bring back our Soup, Salad & Fruit Bar and our Buffets soon, but for now, they remain unavailable per state guidelines.
We follow all local laws and guidelines and we kindly ask you to do the same!

Not quite ready to venture out and about just yet? No worries! Our entire menu is available to go – including a few takeout only deals! To place your order, either give your local Eat’n Park a call or head to eatnpark.com to order online. In addition to our lobby pickup shelves, we also have pickup windows, delivery, and curbside pickup available at select locations.

While things may look a little different for a while, our commitment to creating smiles for you and your family hasn’t changed one bit!

Our Famous Strawberry Pie: Celebrating 60 Years!

It's hard to believe we've been serving up Strawberry Pie for 60 years!

I’m Bill Moore - the Director of Safety and Security at Eat’n Park. I have a lot of great memories of Eat’n Park. My grandfather, Larry Hatch, founded Eat'n Park in 1949, so, as you may imagine, this company is an important part of my family’s history.

I started with the company in 1979 as a dishwasher, and I soon met a waitress who turned out to be the girl of my dreams. I married her 10 years later. My brother in-law met his wife while working at Eat'n Park, too. My wife's parents met at the Bridgeville Eat'n Park as teenagers. In the last 60 years, more than 22 members of my family have worked for Eat'n Park. In 2008, my son Ryan became the 4th generation of our family to work for the company.

I take great pride in my family’s history with Eat'n Park, but one of the greatest contributions my family has given Eat'n Park is the Strawberry Pie. My mother came up with the recipe in our kitchen at home. My father, Bob Moore, tested many types of strawberry glazes that were, in his words, "god-awful." He came home and asked my mom, Claire, if she could do better, and boy, did she ever! She made several pies and submitted them to our neighbors in Scott Township. When the comments came back - “too sweet,” “too tart,” etc., Mom hung in there to perfect the recipe. After quite a few rounds and many taste tests later, the neighbors finally all agreed that she had produced a delicious pie. I guess our guests agree, too. It’s become a favorite of so many people.

Bill and his Mom, Claire,
with the now-famous Strawberry Pie.
A little known fact about our Strawberry Pie is that Eat'n Park was one of the first places ever to receive fresh strawberries (or any other produce for that matter) by air freight. In 1962, Eat'n Park served fresh Strawberry Pie throughout the winter, with strawberries shipped from Plant City, Florida. At the time, this was unheard of. Another little known fact is that I make the best Strawberry Pie in the company. It must be in my genes!

We’re Proud to Offer a Celiac Menu

At Eat’n Park, we take food allergies and sensitivities very seriously. We want every guest to feel comfortable in our restaurants, which is why we not only train our managers regarding allergens, but we also use separate color coded cutting boards, tongs and spatulas to ensure there is no cross contamination when we prepare meals for guests who have a food sensitivity.

In fact, we’d like to think that there’s something for everyone on our menu, including options for those who need to follow a gluten-free diet. So this month, in honor of Celiac Awareness Month, we’d like to share some of our most popular celiac-friendly menu items.

For those of you who don’t know what celiac disease is, it’s an autoimmune disorder of the small intestine that causes an intolerance to gluten, which is a protein found in wheat, rye, and barley. The National Institutes of Health estimates that celiac disease affects approximately 1% of the U.S. population.  A growing number of people are being diagnosed with the disease every day, which is why we feel it’s so important to have options on our menu to suit a gluten-free diet.  So, what are they?

First up is our Rosemary Chicken. Our grilled chicken breast (or two, if you’re hungry!) is seasoned with rosemary, black pepper, canola oil, sautéed mushrooms and white wine sauce. Served with your choice of two sides, it’s no wonder this is a guest favorite.

Speaking of sides, we have plenty of gluten-free options. Choose from applesauce, baked potato, bean medley, carrots, coleslaw, corn, cottage cheese, fresh broccoli, sugar snap peas, mashed potatoes, and garden salad (without croutons).

Next are our burgers. Yep, you read that right. We offer a fantastic gluten-free bun, which means you can sink your teeth into a juicy burger without any consequences. Plus, you can sub our gluten-free bun for toast, sandwiches, or anything else in between. *

Another popular gluten-free menu item is our Chicken & Strawberry Salad! This perennial favorite boasts grilled julienne slices of tender chicken breast with fresh ripe strawberries, sliced almonds and our warm poppy and sesame seed dressing. It’s the perfect salad for a warm spring day!

And don’t think we forgot about breakfast! All of our omelettes are gluten-free. Choose from the Western, Meat Lover’s, Ham & Cheese, Veggies, Cheese, or make your own! Or enjoy a breakfast sandwich with our gluten-free bun. Yum!

Finally, we have our chili. We make our chili from scratch every single day, which means we are using real, gluten-free ingredients. Add a cup or bowl to your meal or grab a quart to go!

To view our entire celiac menu, click here.

And, if you’re following a gluten-free diet or have a food allergy, please be sure to tell your server when you order, so that a manager can speak to you.  This will ensure that your meal is prepared properly.

*Due to the high cost of gluten-free items, there is a small ($.50) upcharge on our gluten-free buns. But trust us, they’re worth it!

Check out our newly-remodeled Squirrel Hill Restaurant

You may have already heard (or seen) – we’ve remodeled our Squirrel Hill restaurant on Murray Avenue! We decided it was time to give this location a facelift – after all, we’ve been in the community for over 30 years and haven’t changed a thing…until now! Let’s start with the outside and work our way in.

We’ve completely resurfaced the outside of our restaurant with stone, giving it an updated look to match the feel of Squirrel Hill. We also tapped into our inspiration from The Porch and Hello Bistro and added garage doors to give guests a chance to enjoy “open air” seating. There are also a handful of bistro tables if you would rather be sitting completely outside. Sounds inviting, doesn’t it?

Moving inside, you’ll find that same feel with an updated salad bar, new restrooms, new booths, tables, and chairs, a new counter with flat screen TV, a takeout station and a new community wall!

Check out the before and after pictures – you’ll definitely want to stop by and see us in person! And speaking of stopping by to see us, why not also see Smiley! Smiley will be visiting on Thursday, August 2nd, 2012 from 5-8 PM. Hope to see you soon!

 Before....
And After!

The wait is over…it’s time to introduce you to our newest addition to the Eat’n Park family: Hello Bistro! Located on Forbes Avenue in Oakland, Hello Bistro is a casual, street-front restaurant designed to incorporate two of Eat’n Park’s favorite menu items: the salad bar and famous (and award-winning!) burgers. Hello Bistro was also designed to fit in urban areas where we can’t fit a traditional Eat’n Park.

Hello Bistro: 3605 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA

So, what’s Hello Bistro all about? Well, they’re like our sassy cousin – they’ve got some classic Eat’n Park favorites, with more than a few new twists thrown in…plus a little bit of attitude for good measure!

Get your salad wrapped or chopped!

Let’s start with the classics. You can find our Superburgers, Ranch Dressing, Potato Soup, Coffee, and of course Mini Smiley Cookies at Hello Bistro.

As for some of the twists…Hold on to your seats ladies and gentlemen: Hello Bistro serves beer and wine! So for any of you who have always wanted to enjoy a nice cold beer with your Superbuger, Hello Bistro is your place.

Hello Bistro also serves up an extensive salad bar featuring 55 toppings. The best part: whether you get 5 or 15 toppings, the price is the same! What can we say…making people smile must just be in our blood!

Just a few of the 55 toppings available on Hello Bistro's monstrous salad bar.

In addition to burgers and salads, Hello Bistro offers up grilled sandwiches, breakfast (available all day), and milkshakes & floats.
