FarmSource Spotlight: Dawson’s Orchards

Local always tastes better, and this summer we’re enjoying fresh flavors from local farms.  We would like to introduce you to a few of our local partners whose fresh produce is highlighting the menu at our restaurants! Read on to learn more about Dawson’s Orchards:

The McQuiston Family

Located in rural Enon Valley, PA, Dawson’s Orchards were established in 1946 and is currently run by the McQuiston family, who are second generation farmers! They grow many different types of fruit on their 30 acres of land, including apples, pears, peaches, nectarines, as well as an assortment of berries and prune plums. In a few short weeks, you’ll be able to find several varieties of their apples on our Soup, Salad, and Fruit Bar including Paula Reds, Ginger Golds, and Jersey Macs.

Want to pick up some fresh apples for yourself? You can visit their orchard at 122 Petersburg Road, Monday thru Saturday from 9AM to 4 PM. They are also regulars at the following farmers markets throughout the summer and fall:

  • The Original Farmers Market (located at 151 Park Rd. McDonald, PA)
    • Monday, Wednesday, and Friday nights starting at 5:30 PM
  • Sewickley Farmers’ Market (located at St. James Parking Lot)
    • Saturday 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM
